We’re now entering the dog days of summer, and with the heat comes more incentive to stay inside and write about all of the old things I loved. With MTV celebrating an anniversary this week, I devoted a lot of creative energy writing about their past. If you weren’t a fan of MTV back in the day, then you won’t find much to enjoy. But if you were, I’ve got you covered with a lot of fun looks back at classic Music Television.
Let me once again start off by highlighting all of the various stuff I’ve posted across the web over the last week. It’s an even bigger list than usual this week, so bear with me…
Over at Retro Ramblings HQ I post an essay about how The ‘90s Were Peak MTV For Me. I’ll probably get a lot of flack from my peers about this, but I preferred early ‘90s MTV to ‘80s MTV.
I re-posted another Wax Pack Flashback video, this time opening a pack of Monster Truck trading cards produced by Classic in 1992. I watched the monster trucks show on ESPN every afternoon back in the ‘90s, and this pack of cards helped recapture those days for me.
In the latest issue of This Nostalgic Life, we dedicated the whole issue to MTV, and I contributed my older article called The Beginnings of MTV, as well as a list of things you might not already know about MTV.
At Retro-Daze, I pointed out highlights from a 1989 Kay Bee Toys sale paper.
I posted several new things at The Retro Network this week. In honor of MTV’s anniversary, here are the new articles I posted there:
